Volunteer Community Manager - Social Media
Build Flyby’s social presence by planning thoughtful posts, engaging with our audience, and turning aerial stories into an active community.
Responsibilities
Plan and help publish social content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms.
Write engaging captions, post copy, calls to action, and relevant hashtags that reflect Flyby Aerials’ brand voice.
Help organize content calendars, upcoming posts, campaign ideas, and project deadlines.
Respond to comments and messages in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
Engage with followers and help build an active community around aerial photography, drone footage, aviation, outdoor visuals, and Alberta-based stories.
Identify social-media trends, community conversations, and storytelling opportunities relevant to Flyby Aerials.
Collaborate remotely with the Social Media Video Editor and other contributors on content ideas, formats, branding, and creative direction.
Monitor basic post performance and share observations on content formats, topics, and engagement.
Maintain consistent branding, tone, and presentation across Flyby Aerials’ social-media channels.
Remain flexible to assist with other marketing, community, or content projects as they arise.
Requirements & Assets
Strong written communication skills and an organized approach to content planning.
Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and current social-media trends.
A good understanding of engaging captions, audience interaction, community management, and short-form content.
Comfortable communicating respectfully and professionally with followers, clients, and collaborators online.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate clearly about availability.
Comfortable receiving feedback and adapting content, messaging, or plans when needed.
Experience using content-scheduling tools, Canva, basic analytics, or social-media management tools is an asset.
Interest in aviation, drones, aerial cinematography, photography, outdoor content, or Calgary’s local creative scene is an asset.
English-speaking, French-speaking, or bilingual candidates are welcome.
Relevant school, volunteer, personal-project, creator-page, or work experience is an asset, but formal professional experience is not required.
A feel for Calgary’s local creative scene is a plus.
